Texas is the Reason at Rev NYC and info?

Seriously, how good is their 7 inch and LP? I remember seeing them with Supertouch at Coney Island High when they opened up for CIV and they were such a great live band. I'm hoping they do play one of those NYC shows since I missed their last performance in 2006.

Besides that Live Series, 7inch on rev/jade tree and LP is there anything else out there? Didn't they have a full LP ready for their major label debut?

Any unreleased songs out there?

Texas NEEDS to play the NYC shows! That LP is easily one of my top 50 favorite records.

I have the singers stuff he put out after that: The New Rising Sons. You ever hear of them? Very similar to TITR, but even more poppy. Their EPs are available on amazon for a couple of pennys. Very worth it.

Also, check out his new band Atlantic/Pacific, who I think have since broken up.

I've usually heard people say "in my top 10" or "in my top 20" but never "in my top 50" haha

Yeah...I love a lot of different genres so the list fills up pretty quickly.

On that same list would be tons of hardcore records plus stuff as varied as Darkthrone "A Blaze in the Northern Sky" to New Order or the Wu Tang Clan.

Well, I'll be seeing Scott this Friday when WHOF plays in RI so I can quiz him there about it.

I stupidly missed the show in 2006, and I know they are all pretty much still friends so I wouldn't be blown away if they did play.

There aren't any unreleased songs floating around afaik, and if there are, they are just earlier demos of certain songs with different names.

Seeing them at the EVR warehouse and CB's early on were fun...

The 7" is WAY better than the LP. I remember being disappointed by the LP when it came out. Also I saw them play after Sense Field and the energy level on stage dropped considerably when Texas got up there.

I thought it was funny how hardcore kids hated Texas, as if they weren't aware that there were hundereds of bands that played in a similar style to Texas and had their own scene. Maybe they got picked on because they were one of the biggest.

Just put TITR on the other day, and I must say they've held up well. A lot better than some bands from that era and genre.

They have all gone on to do other bands after TITR

Garrett did Atlantic Pacific and The New Rising Sons as well as Solea (with Sergie from Samiam) and I think he was also in House & Parish

Norm dj'd a bunch and did Gratitude and New End Original (with Jonah from Far)

Daly did Jets to Brazil and is in Vs.Antelope, and Too Many Voices

Scoot did House & Parish and is now in We Hate Our Freedom Band..

im sure i missed something, but thats what the google and wikipedia are for

Texas LP and 7" both are great and stood the test of time more than a lot of other stuff from that era.

This thread inspired me to pull out the LP and relisten, and it is considerably better than I remember.
