A text message I received last night...

Larry Ransom, who posts on here from time to time, I'm assuming is on tour with Revolution Mother. He sent me the following text message last night, which I thought was pretty damn incredible...

"I'm at a show in Tulsa. People are buying 6 packs of beer at the bar, taking one can off and then using the open ring to hook the 6 pack to their belt. Crazy shit."

Yeah, I'd say that's crazy shit alright. Does this happen anywhere else besides Tulsa Oklahoma? I've been doing bands for many, many years and I've just never really had the urge to hop in a van and play places like this. Yeah I know, blah, blah, blah, touring sells records, but I've never been too concerned about how many records I sell.

they sell six packs at bars for people to drink there? damn.

I mean....

In general, I think all Philly sports fans are trash. There ARE exceptions I know - Moulder, McCann, McMahon, Porter etc etc. Santa hating, ill-mannered, injury cheering, jail in the basement of their stadium idiots. Just can't hate enough. D.

I bet the farm , in tulsa the necks are red like the meat, and the trash be white.

I would wear a bear ammo belt and let people shoot air gun pellets at my chest, of course after jumping around and getting cans all shook up nice to promote a righteous explosion.

Given I grew up with a lot of 'southern boys', most of whom were mostly crazed skaters, I've seen this many times. It gets even better when the place is not allowed to sell alcohol so people bring their own Busch Lite Draft suitcases & party balls (wish they still made these).

What do you expect? I used to hang with a group of skaters in the Daytona area known as Team Glug.

Although this is common place here in the Madwest, there are people who would be more than delighted to see you and your band(s) in places like Tulsa and (A*HUM) Wichita, KS. Just so's you know.

Truthfully, I wouldn't be opposed to playing anywhere. I've played a basement in Kentucky, it was no CBGB's, but it was better than other places I've played in big cities. Maybe someday I'll make it to Kansas and get a chance to check out Dorothy's house.

A much needed Oz comment, HAHA. Someone here once told me that MP played KC, is that true and if so, do you remember what year? There are no buffalo in my backyard, we do have running water, and not everyone uses an outhouse. Seriously, if you ever come through here, you guys have a place to crash.

Nice, thank you sir. Running water is essential. Had to toss an Oz comment in there. We'll have to cover "Circle Storm" by DYS if we make it out there.
